Today Honda Seil Cars Ltd launched the refreshed version of its most popular sedan Honda City in the Indian market. At its first glimpse this redreshed model it seems that this Indian facelift carries forward its Tahi counterpart. Earlier the Japanese giant has intorduced this version in the Thailand market. Under the hoof of modification this revamped version of Honda City will adorn all new chrome finish grille in place of grey finish unit od its predecessor. At the fornt end the bumper witnessed some changes while the sedan will continue the smae headlamps. At the rear side the tail lamps incorporats slight change in its design. Apart from this other alteration can only be noticed when observed so closely.
Looking from inside, a white-blue backlit unit can replace the orange backlit instrument cluster, though the design is same. This new 2012 Honda City also come endowed with an ECO meter, which is quite similar to Honda Brio. Besides this in the high end variant of 2012 Honda City comes adorns with a sunroof at the top and a high quality CD player gives the sedan a much needed appearance to this C-segment car. Though the sedan undergo a ample cosmetic changes but it will pump out by the same 1.5 L petrol engine.
This launch of Honda City facelift come at such a crucila time when the Honda is facing the shortage of components followed by the typhoon in Thailand. However it is the right time for Honda to launch this refreshed verison in the market as the sales of the sedan falls gradually. But after a cash discount of up to Rs 1 lakh the outgoing Honda City has garnered good sales in the month of September and October. Further the natural disaster in Thailand would effect the production of Honda Brio and Honda Jazz due to the shortage of components.
This new Honda City will give tough competition to the other sedans in the segment like Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and the newly launched Skoda Rapid. Looking at the launch of Honda City facelift the speculations are high that soon Honda will add a diesel engine in its family.
